In 1955, Rudolf Uhlenhaut made automotive history: as head of the testing department at Mercedes-Benz, he developed a groundbreaking combination of racing technology and elegant design. The 300 SLR Coupé combined state-of-the-art Formula 1 technology with an aerodynamic coupé body and the characteristic gullwing doors. With a groundbreaking top speed of 290 km/h, the car set new standards in automotive engineering and is still considered a milestone in motorsport history.
